Clinton Patrick Black was born on February 4th , 1962 in Long Branch, New Jersey. His father’s name was GA Schwarz while his mother’s name was Ann. The country icon also has three older brothers, namely Mark, Kevin and Brian. Black spent his formative years in Katy, a suburb of Houston, Texas.

As a child, he appreciated different genres of music such as rock and roll and country, but later developed a special affinity for the latter.
