Lainie started her professional career at KPRC, working as an intern at the channel for a few months in 2013. Later she reported for all Sam Houston State University's major sporting events. She also worked as the reporter in Freelance Sideline where she provided unscripted commentary as the third member of the broadcast team and studied depth charts, giving expert feedback on weather conditions.
