Nicole Sullivan was born as Nicole JulianneSullivan on April 21, 1970, in Manhattan, New York, United States and is the only child of her parents, Edward Christian Sullivan and Madonna Sullivan. She was raised by their parents. Her father is a politician – a Democrat – who served as their district representative in the New York State Assembly for 25 years (between 1977 and 2002) while her mother is a career businesswoman. His ancestry is mixed. She is of Irish and German descent, but being born in the United States, she has American citizenship and is of white ethnicity.
